About The Empyrean

The Empyrean is Rebecca Yarros's fantasy-romance series from Red Tower Books, the imprint behind her 2023 breakout Fourth Wing. The book took off on BookTok, sat atop the New York Times list for months, and Onyx Storm broke first-week sales records on release. The premise is simple and brutal: Violet Sorrengail, trained for a quiet life as a scribe, is ordered by her general mother into Basgiath War College's rider quadrant, where cadets compete to bond dragons and many do not survive the first year.
